What if the AI gets it wrong?

Avalon keeps high-risk actions approval-first. Sending, spam, and delete-type actions require explicit confirmation, while routine operating-layer actions such as archive, move, label, and draft creation can usually be changed from your provider mailbox.

Can I use my own model provider?

Yes. Avalon supports bring-your-own API keys for OpenAI, Anthropic, OpenRouter, and other major providers. You pay the provider directly—no markup, no lock-in.

How long does setup take?

Connect Microsoft or Google, set your private passphrase, finish onboarding, and then Avalon runs the first activation sample before broader AI automation is allowed.

Which provider permissions does Avalon request?

Avalon uses Microsoft and Google sign-in plus the provider mailbox, calendar, contacts, and settings permissions needed for enabled workflows. For Gmail, Avalon avoids the broad mail.google.com scope and uses narrower mailbox, label, and settings scopes so it can classify mail, organize threads, prepare approved drafts, and keep automations running.

How is Avalon different from ChatGPT or Claude connectors?

ChatGPT and Claude can appear beside Gmail or Outlook, connect through Google or Microsoft APIs, and fetch mailbox context into the same chat interface. That is useful, but it still leaves you asking questions and reading answers in chat. Avalon turns mailbox and calendar context into a persistent work surface: states, counts, briefs, cleanup, follow-ups, and actions that stay organized after the conversation ends.

Why use Avalon instead of OpenClaw or Hermes Agent?
